I’ve been wanting to photograph my good friend Nate for a while and we finally made it happen. If you follow my photography, you might have seen a couple of images of Nate floating around in the past as I have captured him with his band on numerous occasions. He is the lead singer of a hardcore band called In Ashes We Lie.
I’ve known Nate for a while now. I travel a lot so I’m not always around, so really when I talk to Nate it on a rare occasion and it’s usually for a moment backstage before and/or after some of his shows. I have rarely met a guy with so much passion for his art and drive to keep living his dreams. I always enjoy a conversation with him. His humble character, passion for life, a rad guy and a great human. Even though we are worlds apart in terms of what we do, I enjoy the fact that we both have a mutual understating of what it means to not be afraid to dream big and fight for it. One of the most inspiring things for me is seeing people, would it be in my industry or elsewhere push towards whatever it is that makes them tick, what people feel they should do and go for it. Every victory or step closer to that goal is so inspiring to me and gives me the drive to do better and keep dreaming.
