What a tremendous pleasure it was to capture Lisa and Karl’s Byron Bay wedding. They are such warm, kind, and loving people.
A wedding lavish with cultural traditions. I felt blessed witnessing this stunning event.
During the ceremony, Karl’s grandfather offered his family Korowai to Lisa. This is a tremendous honor to receive such a highly prized cloak. It’s a family heirloom passed down from generation to generation, lovingly kept and a great symbolism of family values and love.
After the speeches, a Haka dance with war cries and chants took place in honor of the newlyweds, with the groom stepping up and performing his part, leaving everyone on a high, so happy with plenty of tears of joy. I still have goosebumps thinking of it.
The night ended with the sound of guitars, bongoes, harmonicas, and signing.
Needless to say, it was a very emotional wedding fuel of surprise and it was an incredible experience for me.
To Lisa, Karl, their family and friends thank you for making me feel so welcome.
